Saturday November 20, 2010 Part of the line we waited in, thankfully inside the theater as it was raining hard outside, for' Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1'. I now find myself in the very interesting position of desperately wanting to see and maybe even more desperately NOT wanting to see Part 2. I will of course, but I really don't want to. Dobby is one thing, Fred is something else all together.

Sunday November 14, 2010 I went grocery shopping with the intention of taking a cool photo of our grocery store except that, although it looks pretty nice in RL, in a photograph, mine at least, it looked not so pretty nice. I liked the reflections in the outdoor vending machines so, I switched gears and took their photo instead.

Monday November 15, 2010 Lauren and I spent all of Monday evening in the master bedroom drawing and watching a marathon Harry Potter fest. We both finished our drawings, hers for class, mine for the absolute thrill of it.

Tuesday November 16, 2010 This is the CafeNet where I meet up with Lauren after school, which is located directly across the street.

Wednesday November 17, 2010 My tattoo place, I went back to have a couple of more ear piercings done. The coffee table IS (their emphasis) a real coffin, the chair in the other room IS )my emphasis) the one I was tatted in, Lauren is pouring over examples of Jessie, the piercing woman's work, some of which, while all beautifully done, freaks me and Lauren rightthefuck out. What won't people do to themselves?

Thursday November 18, 2010 This is my dwarf strawberry tree whose fruit, while not strawberries, is edible in jam form, or so I've heard.
The golden PCV pipe hanging sculpture was made for me by my dad

Friday November 19, 2010 On minimum days, we lunch with these guys:
On the left we have Cindy, Jimmy, Lauren; On the right, we have Nancy, Jae Hee, Paul

Always enjoy these little peeks into your life. In the third one, I like the almost parallel pose between Lauren and the woman in the background painting.

Good eye, I didn't even see that. What I liked was the bluish glow on the pillow under her drawingboard and knowing that was from a Harry Potter movie we were watching on my TV. I'm just afraid by the time this 365 thing is done, people are going to know my house and yard all too well. The hard part is going to be trying to keep it fresh so people aren't going 'OMG not another picture of her bedroom'. :)

I feel like every theater in the world was crowded like that this weekend for Harry Potter.

I have to agree. I assume you went so, what do you think about where they ended this part? I know some people were disappointed, some not.

Yes I did. I liked where they left it--although I was hoping for (dreading?) a much stronger cliffhanger. But I guess when it's a movie adaptation where the audience knows the whole story, there couldn't be much of a cliffhanger. I didn't reread the book before going to the theater, so I think it made me enjoy the movie more because I had less to nitpick at. What did you think about the ending?

The lunch looks like a lovely group.

The movie theater is very amusing.

Great pics as always. :D

the lunch bunch are a lovely group, I always look forward to those minimum days. I took the theater shot by holding the camera over my head and pushing the shutter. I learned the trick in NY last summer and it's cool because I get the perspective of a 7 & 1/2 foot tall person and most people seem unaware. AS always, thanks for commenting.

What is a minimum day?

What kind of tattoos freak out out?

Show us the drawing!

A minimum day, and they always come in 2s like Thursday-Friday, means they start school at 8 and are out by 11:15. Lauren's school does A_B days meaning she has 3 periods each day alternating and at around an hour and forty minutes each period. On minimum days, each period is an hour with no breaks like lunch. It's for the teachers so they can get together and chit-chat about stuff.

What freaks me and Lauren out aren't tattoos but piercings. For instance, women have temporary metal rings pierced to their backs, in 2 columns, that are then laced back & forth with ribbon, I supposed, for a fancy evening out. The rings extend down from the shoulders to the lower back. Also some of the industrial piercings and what not, kind of get to me.

Mine is here http://gaeln.livejournal.com/
Lauren had to turn hers in, but it was really just a large still life for practice in shading. Thanks for wanting to see.

I should have responded to this a million years ago, but didn't. I never was able to see the drawing. The link goes to your main LJ journal not to a specific page.

I messed up, obviously, with the link, which should have been this:

This was totally worth the wait. Wonderful drawing. Did you draw this from a live tree or just free hand? It's been so long now, I forgot!

the drawing was done from a magazine photograph and I'm so glad you like it.
