Sunday July 17, 2011 Lauren noticed this reflection of light through my 'stained glass' angel  onto our highboy. I thought it pretty enough for a photograph.

MondayJuly 18, 2011 A friend mentioned Merlin to Lauren who mentioned it to me and now, I can't get enough, so even though we only have 4 eppies left, I'm spreading them faaaaar apart in order to delay getting done.

Tuesday July 19, 2011 Oreintation @ UC Santa Cruz. I thought, of all the pics I took, this events/ community board summed up campus life the best.

Wednesday July 20, 2011 If it's wildlife it must be a Lauren photo :D She caught him poking his nose above-ground and patiently waited until he stuck out his whole head. I like how he's checking out her checking out him.

Thursday July 21, 2011 We went malling since we apparently have to rebuy pretty much everything she owns for her dorm room. I liked the shadow/ pattern of the skylight.

Friday July 22, 2011 This is a frame from a documentary, see the fire fighter, that was recommended to us called 'The Fires of Kuwait.' It was stunning and horrifying, inspirational and educational, especially  for Lauren since she wasn't around yet when this particular environmental disaster was caused to happen.

Saturday July 23, 2011 My bedside table
For Lauren: You were with me when I bought the lamp and the table. You were also with me when I bought this little Snoopy and a second one for you took take with you to your dorm room. The phtoograph is you at something less than 2 years old (check out those very cool b&w stripped pants) Next to your pic is your mother's day letter to me this past year (2011) Next to your letter is a 'portrait' of me done by my then best friend Su (late 1970s) before she took of for New Orleans) Next to Su's embroidery is a print I picked up, simply because I thought him beautiful, @ the antique store (Shabby Chic) that was next to the CafeNet. The Christmas angel, which stays out all year round, is standing on three baskets. The little box is embellished with a Celtic design and was a recent catalog purchase. Oh, and the coaster comes from a set given to us by your 'auntie' Esther as a Christmas gift. One of the set is going with you over the hill. br />

I've been finding out that it does have a lot of fandom around here and yeah, it is a lot of fun :) Do you read fanfic for it?

Nope, not boring at all :)

I really liked the first, fourth and fifth photos, really cool. thanks for sharing.

glad you're not bored :D and that you like 4, 5 & 6. Probably 7 is my favorite, a lot of history there for me.

I love the little visiter Lauren captured in the pic!

He is a little visitor but fortunately not ours. We found him in a park we were visiting. It amazes me how she always finds the wildlife.

Thanks for stopping by, it's always appreciated :D

I don't think they are boring at all, I like them.

I am so glad, thank you :D

I love Merlin too!! :)

What is that animal in the 4th photo? I can't work it out haha

I love seeing your photography :)

Yo love Merlin too!! Would you know if there's any good fanfic out there, would you?

The animal is a gopher.

'I love seeing your photography :)'
Yay!!

I am sure there is lots of good Merlin fic out there but I don't read fic in that fandom so I don't have any good recs that I have actually read myself. I can suggest fic by mclachlan as I have read her QaF fic which was amazing! Her Merlin/Arthur fic can be found here. I am also completely in love with this music video :)

Gothers are cute! I assume they can only be found in the US? They would be why I didn't know what it was haha

I don't think I read her QAF story, probably should but will definitely check out her Merlin/ Arthur fic, sounds like fun. And thanks for the link to the vid. I'll be checking that out too.

Sadly, I know nothing about the population distribution of gophers. They are cute but they eat everything and are considered a problem beastie so, you're probably just as well off without them :)

I always enjoy to see your pics, don't worry ;)

Loved the one about the campus life.

Lauren did a great job with that shot!

Thanks for sharing =)

thank you for stopping by, I always appreciate your observations :D

I actually like seeing your updates. It's sort of like the photographic version of a diary entry so we get to see little peeks of your life. Least that's how I feel.

'The Fires of Kuwait.' ... especially for Lauren since she wasn't around yet when this particular environmental disaster was caused to happen.

Ugh.

I officially feel old. LOL!

I was 12 or 13 when this happened. I remember seeing it on tv and being utterly mystified by the fact that they just couldn't find a way to douse the flames so it just kept burning and burning. We used to watch the updates every morning on Channel 1 which featured a *very* young Lisa Ling and Anderson Cooper as the reporters.

Should have been a wake up call *then* to switch to cleaner/more Earth friendly energy.

I think my favorite in this batch is the bulletin board. First and foremost because it made me all nostalgic and secondly because it almost looked like a haphazard collage.

The skylight one was kind of cool, too.

I'm turning these into an album and it's stunning how each photograph brings back its day fro me. My memory sucks and I think, for me anyway, that photos are much better triggers than words to help me remember our life.

If you can remember all of that from when you were 12 or 13, you obviously have a very good memory, I just remember being appalled and you are right, it should have been a wake-up call, but unfortunately no.

I like the bulletin board shot also, mainly because it does read as abstract until you look closely and then realize how much information it really contains. I love the layering. I always love the layer...and reflections :D

If you can remember all of that from when you were 12 or 13, you obviously have a very good memory,

This is going to sound awful and probably change your opinion of my "stellar" memory, but the only reason I remember at all is because it was his royal hotness Anderson Cooper standing in front of this massive flame. It was just one of those snapshot type memories where you remember the event because of one 'picture' in your head.

I might have had a massive crush on him back then. I deny all knowledge of still having one though. LOL!

'...is because it was his royal hotness Anderson Cooper standing in front of this massive flame.'

I told Lauren what you had commented initially and she said, in essence, your reply, basically that you remembered because of how attractive Cooper was!!! As to whether or not you still crush on him, I can say that we both do so...is cool, very cool.

Ooh, skylight! Cool angle.

Which is the portrait of you in the last photo? Is it the black round one with gold?

Yes, Su stitched me, in 1977, using little colored beads and long yellow strands of yarn. She gave it to me still on the embroidery hoop, so that's how I've left it :D We were very very young then, seriously.

You look like a young palm tree. :)

probably not the concept she was going for. I am apparently going to have to take a less obstructed photograph and then you'll see...it looks just like me!! brb

bet you thought I'd forgotten about this, probably would have been best if I had, still...
Photobucket

swear, looks just like me, or at least as I once did :D

No, I i did not forget - I went back and looked at it several times to try and see you in it. Now, I do. I am so glad you showed it to me.
