Our mission101 Summer List
icon interests_summer sun
Each year, along with my year-long mission101 list, which will be done at the end of this month, Lauren & I also do a Summer List, which lasts from the day she comes home to the day she leaves.

This year, we drowned ourselves in Star Trek completing The Original Series, which was SOOOO much fun, along with that part of the franchise's 6 movies and we even began Enterprise, which we are both enjoying immensely. This crew of this first Enterprise, headed by Scott Bakula, is wonderfully depicted and the stories are compelling. A real surprise, a real treat. We also did a number of other movies, both at home and in the theater, and wrapped up several TV shows like Merlin, Psych, Game of Thrones yadda yadda. We also did get educational completing 5 of The Great Courses.

Books-wise, I kind of read my head off. Lauren started out well, but quickly fizzled, I think because she has to read so much during the school year. That plus the fact that her dad got her hooked on Breaking Bad, which they blitzed on Netflix thereby taking up an inordinate amount of their evening, and her reading, time.

We completed 2 projects, one of which, redoing the courtyard, was a hang-over from last summer while the other, redoing her room, came as a something of a surprise. Both turned out well and I'll included a couple of photos, befores & afters sort of, when I post my month-end photographs in a few days. We also completed 6 puzzles so, yeah, we got stuff done :)

The big deals were the play No Man's Land, which I have ahead discussed here ad nausium and our week-long jaunt to Los Angeles.

On the face of it, it would appear we didn't do much more than watch TV, but no, we were out and about far more than is usual for us. Sadly, it's just that none of that gets recorded except in bits & pieces in photographs via my postings for my Monthly Photo Project. Such as it is.

This was a freakin' terrific summer, very memorable, the Summer of Star Trek and Avatar and puzzles, and despite that it started out with our home getting burglarized while we were away!!! Ain't life grand...in general.

Sounds like you had a busy and wonderful summer. :D

We did!! and we're grateful.

Love this...I have my own 101 list too, but maybe it would be kind of cool to get Ry in on it too!

I think we met through mission101, but correct me I'm wrong :) On my regular year-long list, I do include Lauren but only for things I do for her that I can get done on my own. During the summer though, when she's home, she becomes integral. So, I think including Ry would add an nice dimension to your list and maybe would also teach him about how planning can lead to accomplishment, something I'm still working on with Lauren :D
