How many of those of you who write have felt this way?!!?

'The pages are still blank, but there is a miraculous feeling of the words being there, written in invisible ink and clamoring to become visible.'
     -Vladimir Nabokov, novelist_1899-1977

I know I certainly have!

Yes. Though I've always compared it more to exorcising a demon. You can't rest until it's out.

I thought you'd agree! Although for me, it's a little more like a bliss-state than demonic, a little more like meditation.than exorcism especially now that we have spellcheck :)

I'm more the type who drips blood into the keyboard - lol. The bliss is after, when it's written. I never use spellcheck, I'm sure I have some very stupid misspellings in my fic, but I'm lazy about spellchecking most of the time.

I especially feel this way as I begin writing a new novel.

I envy you being able to say those words...'as I begin writing a new novel.' So impressive, Shadow!!

Nope, that's not me. I do best when someone (it used to be chering tells me to write something. Then, somehow or other, I do. Surprisingly, what I write often turns out to be different from what I thought I would write! as though a story was lurking in my head, waiting to be written, unbeknownst to me. FanSee

The story's there, waiting in your head, you just need inspiration, in the form of someone challenging you, to release it. I'm that way too mostly which is why I always wrote to challenges. Lately though, I'm trying to learn to challenge myself. Time will tell how that goes :)
