365 Photography Project Thirty-Second Post

Sunday May 15, 2011 I obviously have a 'It Gets Better' obsession going, I like how it's moved from the internet to TV so very much. This commercial was a quick succession of several different vids, I only barely got Adam, this was the least blurred because the dude just kept moving around.

Monday May 16, 2011 Birdies play on our fence. Lauren actually took this but I was standing right next to her looking out her bedroom window so, it counts. These birds were doing that fluffing-the-feathers thing. Eventually the one on the left fluffed himself (I assume he is a he) right off the edge, dropping like a stone. The other looked over at him and I could clearly imagine him saying, 'Whatthefuck, dude?'

Tuesday May 17, 2011 This cat made an appearance in my 365 before, sitting on my backyard fence. Here she's (I assume she's a she)  sitting at the eve of her very own roof contentedly watching, off and on, me take her picture.

Wednesday May 18, 2011 First day of a major headache that followed me through the week so, courtyard!!

Thursday May 19, 2011 Because I got a little desperate, still had a major headache, knew I wouldn't be going ANYwhere but that I still needed to shot something so, my default tree with its cliched 'dapple sunlight' filtering through.

Friday May 20, 2011 Lauren photographing Juvenile Hall for a photo essay she's doing. As you can see/ read, she remembers things by writing them on her hand and though some are faded, this list includes at least five items.

Saturday May 21, 2011 Old building in an older part of San Jose which reminds that this town was once old west-like. One block away is Shaks Stadium!!

I love all the birds, flowers, and the cat -- it all feels wonderfully like Spring!!!

It does feel like spring, I know and yet, today I have the fireplace on because it is cold. It's nearly June and it is cold WTF?

(Deleted comment)
that's the weird thing about Fox, the channel's cool, it's their news department that sucks. And yeah, I get a little thrill every time I see one of these commercials. I can't wait for the SF Giants's, going to be awesome.

Glad you enjoyed!!

LOL!! I love klutzy animals. :)

'LOL!! I love klutzy animals. :)'
he was just so into fluffing himself, he lost sight of where he was. Klutzy animals really are the best.

My migraines were triggered by flickering lights: dappled sunshine through trees, especially in a moving car; Christmas lights; candles in a dark room; etc.

My first ever migraine occurred at a circus performance when i was nine. I had to be taken home in the middle of the performance. The circus never came to Fayetteville, AR while we lived there. We moved when I was 12.

Fortunately, I didn't get a migraine everytime I encountered a trigger. FanSee

Both my father and I had migraines until we were in our mid-50s when we 'out-grew' them. I haven't had a headache since. While I was migraine-prone, I thought of myself as a person who had headaches; it wasn't until the migraines stopped that I realized I was a person who had migraines.

On to the pictures: The story behind the birds on the fence had me smiling. It's so amusing when an animal does something clunky like that.

I love the cat on the roof. She's both up high, which cats love, and also snug in her den, which they also love. Purr-fect.

Post as many pictures as you want of your courtyard and your tree. I love 'em. FanSee

Sorry about both you and your dad, having life-long headaches can have a very negative impact on ones life. My migraines have lessened up to some degree, but aren't gone. I have mainly headache allergic to so many things, perfumes, cleaners, flowers yadda yadda and with major sinus headache issues. Otherwise, I'm fit-as-a-fiddle.

Glad you like the animal/ 'nature' photos and I will keep posting my courtyard. The problem I have with those though is that while they are pretty, they don't place me in time which I need for telling our story this year. I guess though that not every picture needs to be part of the narrative, some can just be a little more eternal, right? Balance in all things.

If you take meds, I guess you could have taken a picture of the bottle(s) or the pill(s)? I trust you to make the result express an esthetic. FanSee

I don't, no bottles, no pills although that reminds me of the opening credits sequence of a Leo DeCaprio movie, Marvin's Room, (Meryl Streep plays DeCaprio's mom & Diane Keaton plays his aunt) where the camera traveled through all these beautifully lit, gloriously colored bottles of pills. David takes a gazillion vitamins, maybe I could make that work. Thanks for the idea.

I like the angle of the last shot, but the kitty is my favorite. :-)

thank you!! As you know, I enjoy exaggerated angles. The cat isn't up there often and she never waits long enough for me to get my camera. This time she did!!

Loved all the pics! Especially the Flowering Plum. Beautiful!!!

Thanks for sharing my dear =)

you are more than welcome :D

Just getting to these now since we finally have the power on again...for the moment anyway.

Your garden is lovely! I don't think I've said that yet, but I do like the neat vibe it has - like organized chaos with all the grasses and annuals mixed in.

I think, rather like fan fic, there's certain pics you have to take just as a rite of passage. :D

Also, remembering to snap a pic even when you feel like crap is an accomplishment in and of itself!

And, on a completely unrelated note, I do think it's awesome you two share photography together. My mom thought I was mental when I started the project. Now that she's seen the timeline of different things though (like our garden and the kitchen renovation) she'll ask (read: order) me to take pics of different things for her.

I like that, organized chaos, I could use that as the title to my memoir, should I ever write one and it does describe my garden well. I did make a plan, like 12 years ago, but some plants just grew way bigger than I anticipated, overflowing others, the tree especially but every one does have their place so yeah, a nice vib.

'Also, remembering to snap a pic even when you feel like crap is an accomplishment in and of itself!'
thank you for noticing, I think so too. Same goes for you.

I put a camera in Lauren's hands when she was a kid and just said, 'Take pictures, you'll learn what's good and what isn't'. She did take photography last year so I think the interest will stick with her. One of her photos, at the show, won a 2nd place so, that's nice encouragement. I think it's just so cool how your mom now sees the value, that she's even directing you in your 365...awesome. I only wish I'd thought to do something like this when we were younger, when Lauren was a child but, better late than never.

Eventually the one on the left fluffed himself (I assume he is a he) right off the edge, dropping like a stone. The other looked over at him and I could clearly imagine him saying, 'Whatthefuck, dude?'

Whatthefuck, dude and pass me some of that shit.

I think the cat is a she too.

'Whatthefuck, dude and pass me some of that shit.' lol
