Pretty much sums it up_President Obama

It doesn’t make us weaker when we guarantee basic security for the elderly or the sick or those who are actively looking for work. What makes us weaker is when fewer and fewer people can afford to buy the goods and services our businesses sell, or when entrepreneurs don’t have the financial security to take a chance and start a new business. What drags down our entire economy is when there’s an ever-widening chasm between the ultrarich and everybody else.

365 Photography Project_Take 2_Twenty-Sixth Post

I hope all of you have had a lovely Easter or Passover or just a quiet easy Sunday like us :)
On to my photos for last week.

For context :) There are several of these structures scattered around the school playground.
April01_2012_Sunday_at Athenour
Sunday April 1, 2012_Before we took Lauren and Jimmy back over the hill to Santa Cruz after our really swell spring break, they wanted to revisit their old elementary school, Athenour, most specifically to see 'their' signing wall. Lauren's name is on the back wall while Jimmy's is on the side wall close to hers. Athenour was founded in 1961 and closed with their fifth grade class, the final graduates, in 2004. :( The name still survives as a preschool at this location and I think it's very cool that the other current tenant, a Montessori school, hasn't painted over the signing walls.

April02_2012_Monday_March books
Monday April 2, 2012_This is a little lack-luster for me, but I did decide to read less and do more plus rereading Hesse and Gibran was pretty good. Also, I read fanfic, for the first time in many a month, which was very good, so I don't so much mind. And honestly, understanding 'Consciousness and Its Implications' would have been enough had I understood it, but...not so much :(( I will have to try again. I should probably mention that 'The Tremendous Worlds I Have Inside My Head' is a little bit of a biography about Kafka.

Saturday April7, 2012_At the end of each month, I have printed any photos I've taken during the previous month for either 100_snapshots - top little blue album - or my 365 Photo Project - bottom right big black album - or the Possessions album I'm doing for Lauren - bottom left small brown album. I include my laptop because it shows me how to sort all the photos

Dribs & Drabs about my mission101

Since I only give myself one year to complete my 101 tasks, at the end of March, I was half way done time-wise, which seemed a nice time to reevaluate my progress.

So far, I have three FAILS, but instead of leaving them as such, I've decided to change them to something hopefully doable.

10_Photography class
Purchased a 3 hour class @ Citizen Space-San Jose from AmazonLocal
is a FAIL because I actually forgot to go...seriously.
It now is:
10_Read AND UNDERSTAND!!! the manual for my new-ish Nikon Coolpix L120
Should be helpful.
97_Weight Lose_4 times per month @ Right Stuff
Joining was Lauren's big idea and when she left me, well, I lost ALL my incentive, my problem not hers, still a BIG FAIL, soooo,
It now is:
97_Find an exercise program or two on OnDemand and participate two times per week_0/ 50

99_FreePoverty (water)_50,000 cups
I like these online charity game sites. I was really enjoying this one, I was actually learning geography stuff, but this became a FAIL when the site people changed the game to watching videos. It's a good deal, but not what I want to do.
It now is:
99_Charitii's crossword puzzle_50,000 square inches of rainforest for The Nature Conservancy.
I have no idea how much acreage that is or how much I can do in six months, but it's a start and they have a few other charities you can play for.
