November01_2014_October mediaNovember01_2014_October reading_Androidsandroida
Saturday November 1, 2014_October reading et al_Chicago, a giveaway book from when I worked at Barnes & Noble, I honestly didn't care for. The House in Good Taste, written early in the 1900's by the woman, Elise de Wolfe, considered the first American woman interior designer, was weirdly fun in how it described the way to set-up a home for an era I couldn't even begin to relate to. The Daily Book of Art is just that, snippets that are to be read daily dealing with different aspects of art, and so is a book that will probably be included in every media photo until next October :) Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep by Philip K Dick is one of those science fiction classics everyone, if you're into that genre, is supposed to read and I now know why as it was excellent.
The DVD course The Story of Human Language added greatly to my fascination with the whys of how language came about world-wide.

Saturday November 8, 2014_While at The Country Inn for our bookclub, we ran into one of Lauren and Jimmy's favorite teachers, Mrs. Lescroart from 6th grade so, Cindy took my photo with her, that's me on the left, so I could sent it to Lauren. I did the same, naturally, for Cindy :)

Thank you!!

I actually think I spent more time working on the table than on the dinner :) Proof of my priorities!

We only started doing them a couple of years ago and we're both really enjoying them. It's lovely having a project where we can just work quietly together, she doing her part while I do mine.

Why'd you let the tradition go??

I'm glad and thank you, I was pleased with how the table turned out.

What really annoyed Lauren with that puzzle is that they repeated three doors and that made things even more confusing!

I love these (kinda) monthly posts.

I think I read, "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep," but if so it was half a century ago. I should probably revisit, no?

I wish I had pictures of the teachers who inspired me, Sister Ernestine (7th and 1/2 of 8th grade) and C. C. Loveland (high school history). I hope Lauren saves the picture of Ms. Lescroart.

I feel like puzzling now, when the days are short, but I'm afraid the cats would help with it.

I try not to persevere with books I don't like but alas! I have completest tendencies. FanSee

These posts are definitely monthly, just a little late sometimes, this time because I just didn't feel like writing about the books :) And yes, revisit Do Androids Dream. I had asked a friend for her favorite Science fiction and this book was her choice, remember back when I asked about your husbands? I also persevere usually for the good. I just didn't care about the characters, my limitations, not the limitations of the author's writing.

I'm saving Mrs. Lescroart for her, every LJ post I find valuable is copy/pasted into a word doc which I then print out and put into a binder interspersed with entries about our daily lives not posted to LJ. Photo posts all are included :)

There must be a way for you to puzzle, there are so many very cool ones out there now. But I see your point. We lost a piece from the doors one and we don't even have cats for an excuse!

I sent your HOLIDAY card to your old address, I assume forwarding, yes?
