A friend was wondering so...

tumblr-logo-icon-7.png I thought I'd mention that there is a new-ish friending community, 2017 Revival, that I have joined because, frankly, while those who have remained on my friends-list throughout the ages are cherished, many others have moved on. The problem, I guess, with mainly being involved from the beginning with fandom and when that peters out, not entirely but some, not really knowing where to go next. My journal had become a little too one-sided. Me talking, no one listening. Can't help but wonder...why bother.
So, I am now making new friends, those who post more about life, politics, art and such, and that, in turn, is making me pretty darn happy. Change is good. New friends are always good. So, just letting you know in case you are of a need to change things up a little too :)

One last thing. Livejournal has provided a cute little heart 'LIKE' button on the comments page of every post so that, if you don't feel you have anything to comment, you can click the heart 'LIKE' button and then people who are like me who get very very sad when no one comments to their painstakingly crafted, or not, posts can at least get 'LIKED'.And 'LIKED' is good. Very very good.
I would like to thank connorblond for making me awae of this feature which, until he 'LIKED' something I'd posted, I had no idea even existed.
     Easy frickin' peasy. Yes?

I can't see the feature either, so I keep getting these notifs from the universe. Wish I could disable it.

I hear you. I checked to see if that was possible, but it isn't, else I'd have done it.

I only just changed my journal to a new format, whch I do periodically because I am easily bored, and hadn't even noticed the little heart until a friend used it. Personally, I like it because even if someone doesn't have something to add, they can at least tell me they stopped by, read, and liked what I said. It's only superficial if it's used superfically.

You get a lot of comments, Alex, compared to most. I don't. So, if now if I get a couple of likes instead of comments, what's the harm. What's to hate. I mean, I can see, that if your format doesn't support it, it would be strange not to know who liked your post. Still, for me, it works.

Livejournal isn't Facebook and never will be. Not to worry, I don't think. They are completely different.

If it works for you - great! I was just saying why I don't like it, it wasn't meant as an attack or anything. :)
