Dribs & Drabs
Tasks 51 through 56
plus Task 98 on my list deal with improving my doing-art routine. In order to improve my routine though, I needed to understand what it is I want from my art and realizing that I didn't really know I, in part, set-up tasks dealing with just that, defining what I want. So, Task 51: Define how to take my drawings to the next level is complete!
They say artists need community but having none here in the burbs, I decided to find my inspiration in other ways, through Task 52: Watch 25 Art-related documentaries AND Task 53 & 54: Read 5 Art-related books. Neither of these tasks is completed although I have watched 10 documentaries and read 1 book.
Task 55: Establish a  3-minimum-simultaneously worked-on drawing routine I added because in watching the documentaries, I noticed that's how many painters especially work, several pieces simultaneous worked on. Makes sense. If you get stuck on one, move to another. Learn something new, apply that to another. And so on. This is a task that probably won't 'Get Completed' until my mission does because it needs to become routine but, working on it I am.
Task 56: Develop a Tool Kit and this I have done so, while I will undoubtedly add to it as I learn, I'm considering it complete.
And finally they also say artists should have mentors. Again, no mentors locally hence Task 98: Take 6 Online Art Courses of which I have taken but 1.
Consequently, I imagine, because of all of this focus, I completed two drawings, Tasks 21: Two Month Drawing & 22: Two Month Drawing which makes me pretty darn happy.and feeling like I am moving in the proper direction.
          I also completed
Task 74: Udemy Course_Dan Rather on Journalism & Finding the Truth in the News which was excellent.

How I loved Moonlight! Not only visually beautiful and with a great soundtrack, but I loved how lifelike it felt, without excessive drama but not glossing over reality.

Moonlight was wonderful. I'm very pleased such a personal film could win for Best Picture!

Animal Farm is the only book on your list that I've read, though it was so long ago that I don't remember if it only took a day to read.

Enjoyed Sully, and have Hidden Figures and Moonlight on hold at the library. Will be picking up Hidden Figures tomorrow.

The same with me! I'd read Animal Farm way back in highschool and not since. When my son read it, also back in highschool, I was reminded, in our discussions of it, how good the book was. What saddens me is how relevant it also still is especially the use of language and 'alternative' facts for deception.

Hope you enjoyed Hidden Figures. For most of my childhood, my father worked for NASA and so, as you can imagine, the film held a special relevance to me :)

Your lists are as always so inspiring. After reading this post I went straight to my wardrobes and cleaned out two of them :)

Oh, and I loved Hidden Figures!

Most excellent on getting organized. I can almost hear my house sigh with happiness whenever I organize any part of it better, from something small like a drawer to something big like a closet. Two's even better.

Hidden Figures was terrific. I totally agree!!
