Netflix Is A Joke_Emmys 2017

Talk about messing with the fourth wall :) If you missed this on the Emmy's, which I did, finding it instead at AdAge, then watch & enjoy!!

From Netflix: 'Netflix is a joke. There, we said it. Brand new stand-up specials from Dave Chappelle, Ellen DeGeneres, Chris Rock, and Jerry Seinfeld are coming soon. Only on Netflix'.

I think I caught part of it, but we weren't paying a lot of attention to the show. So thanks for posting it!

OMG! I am sooo happy right now. I'm a longtime Netflix member and all the comedians shown are ones I enjoy a great deal. What a clever way to let us know we have this to look forward to. Thank you so much for sharing it. Huge hugs, Grammy

P.S. I didn't miss a single minute of the Emmy's and I swear I don't remember seeing this video at all, but I'm glad I have now.

They say that's when it first aired but, we missed it too. Like you, we are long-time Netflix, if by that you mean 2005. We joined for QAF:)

So glad you enjoyed! And so glad we have such good shows to look forward to

I actually joined Netflix the same year that they first became available to the public, which I believe was 2000 or 2001.

I was lucky enough to have Showtime at the time that QAF first aired so I was able to watch it from day one as it first began running on that channel. I had watched the British version some time earlier, which is why I was so interested in checking out the American version when it first aired. And, of course, I became an instant life long fan of the show.

I'm so glad that Netflix made it available so the show could gain even more fans. I actually wrote reviews on Netflix for the series, which are among their oldest reviews. And I naturally gave them 5 stars for every Season.

Hugs, Grammy

You are a pioneer!! I didn't find QAF until just before S4. I accidentally found S1 at our local Blockbuster, I was actually looking for The Sopranos, and then found S2 and S3 on Netflix. We then binge-watched them, finishing just in time to get a two-month subscription for Showtime for S4. And again the following year for S5. Netflix stayed while Showtime didn't. I even did the Showtime showboards (???) for QAF for a time. That was fun and my first exposure to chatting with folks online. Were you there?

I was on board with watching the series from the very beginning, but I was much slower when it came to being an online fan and fanfic writer.

I was a newbie to the internet while the show was airing, but my girls saw how devoted I was to the show and they knew all about fan sites, etc. So they are the ones who led me into that world. I first discovered fanfic stories, which led me to a fan site called True Queer Love. I owe that site everything. It was there that I came out of my shell (I'd always been too shy to participate in group things) when they encouraged me to try my own hand at writing. It had been a childhood dream of mine to be a writer, but I didn't have the courage to do anything about it before QAF inspired me.

Anyway, thanks to my TQL family, I have lived my dream of being a writer and found so many countless friends who share the things and people I love. Not bad for an old girl who had pretty much given up on living life to the fullest when poor health and a forced early retirement changed my way of life completely. Strangely enough, I fought my girls when they first tried to get me interested in computers and the internet. Hard to believe now. LOL!

Btw, I did discover showboards eventually, but the only one I was involved with was one that celebrated television series that featured gay characters. Thanks to that I found a ton of shows from many other countries too. So many wonderful couples to keep track of. Sadly, many of the storylines have ended since I became involved almost ten years ago. But we'll always have QAF, which I doubt will ever fade away. New fans and writers appear all the time, thankfully.

Huge hugs, Grammy
