French to English Question

can anyone translate this for me?
as I am clueless

Les grands vents venus d'outremer
Passent par la Ville, l'hiver
Comme des etrangers (s/h a ' over the e) amers

Ils se concertent, graves et pales
(s/h a ' over the a)
Sur les places et leurs sandales
Ensablent le marbre des dalles

Comme des crosses a
(s/h a ' over it) leurs mains fortes
Ils heurtent l'auvent et la porte
Derriere qui l'horloge est morte

Et les adolescents amers
S'en vont avec eux vers la Mer!

                                                        Henri de Rignier

this is he best I could get from
online translators, which  weren't so very helpful

The high winds come from overseas
Pass by the City, the winter
Like bitter foreigners

They act in concert, serious and blades
On the places and their
Ensablent (silted-uo???) sandals the marble of the flagstones

most online translators had no idea what ensablent meant but one said silted-up so
I now imagine this to mean: their sandals silted-up the marble (of the) flagstones

As sticks has their strong hands
Like sticks in their strong hands???
They run up against the hood and the door
Behind which the clock died

And bitter teenagers
From go away with them towards the sea!

I'm glad to hear from you, I'd thought you'd left lj, I practically have. I'm redoing 'A Time From Now' so I pulled it off my journal. herefordroad has been helping me with betaing but I've kind of hit a wall, I haven't done a thing with it for a while now. I am going to repost it to my journal starting later in the summer, hopefully by August. Thank you so much for noticing and wondering. How are you doing, are you still in Canada? Keep in touch with me, okay?

Yes, I am still in Toronto but will be going back to Berlin/Germany in August, for half a year and yes, I still wander around on lj. I mostly read fiction nowadays. And most of the time stuff that has been written years ago.
You left, practically? Got bored? Have better things to do? Whatever it is, I hope you are well and enjoying what you do.

Will read your story again, when you repost it. Don't let me wait to long. Nice to hear from you. hannasch

Re: Hi back to you whether you're in Canada or Germany
now it's August so I can only wonder where you are. I almost left lj because of priorities, I was putting in too much time and getting less then hoped for in return, it didn't add up so I've just shifted my focus, putting time into drawing, which is my real peace of mind.

I did want to let you know that I have started reposting the story you were looking for, just today and will update every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I'd love it if you'd let me know what you think if you are able to read along.
