It's kind of ironic how...

...just last week, I was talking to arlad about what's been going on in Mexico -- for those who don't know, she lives in Mexico City -- with the flue and her saying how bad it's getting and me being worried for her and relieved we live here, when, this morning -- actually at midnight last night -- I receive a call from my daughter's highschool saying that they were shutting it down until NEXT Wednesday because a student tested positive last Thursday for Swine Flue. Apparently, there's a 10 day incubation period and, now I'm to watch her for symptoms.

It's a small freakin' world, isn't it? And we're all in this together.

And maybe ironic isn't the right word. Maybe it's more like epic scary.

I hope your daughter is well! That is very scary. I am wishing the best for all of you. Hopefully, it would just be a singular outbreak at your daughter's school.

The swine flu hasn't reached Budapest yet. But several EU member states have reported cases. I'm heading to Barcelona over the weekend; it's a little scary.

It is scary and especially since only a week ago, the US hadn't seemingly felt a thing. Lauren's fine and the girl who has contracted the flue hasn't been in school since last Thursday, the district is just being super cautious and I'm fine with that.

I really liked Barcelona, Picasso and Gaudy and the Moors, right? and the hostel where we stayed was overbooked so they let us sleep on the roof. When it started to rain, no one cared because we were all safe in our sleeping bags and the rain was warm. Have a safe trip.
